Upcycling, furniture restoration , paper mache, jewelry

Clarice Duarte was born in São Paulo, Brazil and now is established in Canada. She has been creating her own products for more than 25 years. Clarice has always been concerned with the environment and sustainability of the planet. She has participated in many different social projects in Brazil and also in the development of sustainable communities. She uses this experience to produce her own products. Clarice loves upcycling and uses almost everything from nature and findings in dumps to transform into something beautiful to the world. This includes works in Paper Mache, restoring furniture, jewelry from different resources, home décor products and much more.

“Depends on how I feel in the moment of the creation", says Clarice. "One day I am restoring a furniture, and the next day I feel like to design a completely new jewelry using a resource that I've never used before. This is what I love”.

Clarice is also the founder of FETCH IDEAS.

For Clarice, FETCH IDEAS brings together her passion for community, artisans, opportunities, hope and the beautiful products they produce. Since the conception of the company, she has worked closely with artisans, small producers, and new designers, traveling around the world, mainly to Brazil to bring FETCH IDEAS to life.

As Clarice says, “Every product has a story to tell. FETCH IDEAS wants to show that behind a product there are people who have invested years of study and dedication, trial and error and the final product is pure beauty”. FETCH IDEAS also wants to showcase those artisans without academic training or study who are producing beautiful, high-quality products, often in difficult situations, with few resources. For many of these craftspeople, access to a Canadian and international audience isn’t just exciting, it’s truly life changing. These entrepreneurs rely on their growing businesses to sustain their lives and the lives of their employees. “I am very proud of my project and also to be part of this project as an artisan”
